Hillside designed and constructed 3 different types of walls for this project. You'll notice Standard Keystone walls around some of the pads to actually create the space for the homes. Hillside also designed a hybrid Keystone system for use in a rock back cut. The City of San Diego required a retaining wall in the southern rear yards - so Hillside designed these walls so that the project owner could save more than $100,000 when compared to a conventional masonry or cast-in-place retaining wall.
Those walls are 17' tall and plantable so that they will be completely covered in vegetation in a few years. The owner also wanted the 'sound walls' to match the color of the other walls on the project - so Hillside provided design and construction of Vista DSM walls. This was another beautiful project by Hillside and our team of expert designers/engineers and field employees.
